Doris Burrow
Doris Pinkerton Burrow, a former resident of Hixson, Tennessee, died on November 19, 2014, one day shy of turning 85 years old.
The Lord blessed Doris with many gifts that she faithfully used to bring joy to others: writing poetry, sewing, teaching, and most importantly, loving on her family.
She was born to the late John Cooper and Flora Pinkerton on Nov. 20,1929 in Eaton, Tn., outside of Trenton. She graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1946 and moved to Memphis where she met and married the late Robert Frank Burrow on June 18, 1948. They moved to Hixson, in 1967 and resided there for 25 years. They were active members of Hixson First Baptist Church.
Due to Alzheimer's disease, she lived with her three children during her last seven years of life.
She is survived by these children, Robert (Donna) Burrow of Killen, Al.; Rhonda (Gene) Saylors of Sugar Land, Tx. ; and Annette (Tony) Morris of Memphis; brother, Jerry (Betty) Pinkerton of Trenton, Tn.; and a total of 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her life was celebrated by the family at a graveside service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson on Friday.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
