Grab your blue jeans and a plaid shirt, because on Saturday, Nov. 22, Old Crow Medicine Show will be making a stop at Chattanooga’s Memorial Auditorium. Armed with guitars, banjos, fiddles, an upright bass, and much more, the seven piece group is sure to impress with their energetic repertoire of Americana and country/bluegrass tunes.
The band, now based out of Nashville, has been picking and singing since 1998. Founded by Ketch Secor and Critter Fuqua the group got its start busking on street corners. In 2000 bluegrass legend Doc Watson discovered Old Crow while they were playing outside a drug store in Boone, North Carolina. From then on things only escalated. The band now enjoys national success and closed out the year of 2013 by being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, winning a Grammy Award for their film Big Easy Express, and going certified platinum with their single “Wagon Wheel.” Their new album, Remedy, was released July 2014.
The show starts at 8 p.m. at Memorial Auditorium and will feature special guest Marty Stuart. Tickets are still available ranging in price from $29.50 – 34.50, plus fees. You can purchase online here through etix.com, or call 800 514-3849 to charge by phone.
