Featuring local bands and dancers, floats strung with lights, and more, the Jimmy Liner Memorial Christmas Parade is one of the oldest Christmas parades in Tennessee. Bring in the Christmas season with this traditional parade and you may get a chance to sneak a peak at Santa Clause before his Christmas Eve journey. Join the folks at Fall Creek Falls in Pikeville, Tenn., for Christmas on the Mountain December 5 – 7th. This weekend-long Yuletide event includes holiday music, storytelling, Christmas crafts for the kids, and breakfast with the man in the red suit. The event also features a mountain craft show that runs all three days and showcases the region’s best craftsmen.

This community-wide event begins with a tree lighting December 5th, complete with live choral performances at historic downtown churches. Santa Clause will also be there to light the giant tree next to the Post Office steps and then visit with guests the rest of the night. Per tradition, the next day, December 6th, is the annual Christmas parade through downtown Cleveland. Floats will start at Bradley Central High School and travel in a loop through the town until they end back at the school. All floats in the parade are created by local clubs, organizations, and business, and are judged prior to the parade. Mr. and Mrs. Clause will be present after the parade at Harton Park for a meet and greet with hot chocolate and cookies to increase holiday spirit. Also following the parade, all the downtown Christmas lights will be lit to welcome Christmas to Monteagle.

Celebrate Christmas in historic downtown Dayton December 6th. Festivities begin at4:30 p.m. with a horse and carriage parade down the main strip. Following the parade everyone is invited for a candlelight caroling session at the Rhea County Courthouse, home to the Scopes Trial in 1925. Preceding the parade will be other activities such as photos with Santa and special sales at downtown shops for Christmas shoppers.
