Rock City’s annual Enchanted Garden of Lights prepares to shine bright for its 20th anniversary season beginning Nov. 21. Beautiful enhancements and new characters await guests nightly from 6-9 p.m. through Jan. 3.
This award-winning light extravaganza continues to be a favorite holiday tradition for tens of thousands of visitors every year. New scenes include The Dancing Forest where lighted trees dance to holiday music, as well as a 26-foot Christmas tree featuring a celebration in lights set to sounds of the season. Also, meet new characters like Jack Frost and Inara the Ice Queen, as well as beloved favorites like Frosty, Santa and his elves.
Along the Enchanted Trail, get a Sugar Plum Fairy Makeover, decorate a Christmas stocking and eat some reindeer corn. Guests can also enjoy the nightly concert series in the North Pole Lodge while sitting by the fire, drinking hot cocoa or apple cider.
Dinner with Santa returns by popular demand and offers VIP admission to the Lights and a buffet dinner, with extras for children that include a gift, cookie-decorating voucher and a visit with St. Nick! Dinner dates are Dec. 6, 7, 15, and 16 at 5 p.m. each night at the Big Rock Grill. Reservations and other info are available online at www.seerockcity.com/lights.
College nights at the Lights are also back this year, with college groups performing opening weekend. Friday night, Nov. 21 is Lee University night, Nov. 22 is UTC night and Nov. 23 is Chattanooga State night. All students and faculty with valid school I.D. receive $6 tickets on their respective college night. This discount also applies to Covenant College for Sunday - Wednesday evenings.
Discounted tickets to the Lights are offered Sundays through Wednesdays. The Enchanted Garden of Lights is closed Christmas Eve night, reopening on Christmas Day at 6 p.m. A portion of each ticket sold throughout the event goes to benefit local families at the Ronald McDonald House.
