Charles H. Evans, Jr., 84, of Rossville, Georgia, died on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at his home.

He was retired from Ross-Meehan Foundry after 38 years of service and Jackson Machine after 12 years of service.  He was a World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #40 in Ringgold, GA.  He was a member of Calvary Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a deacon having been ordained on April 25, 1976.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. Evans, Sr. and Cora Evans, sister, Mary Sue Evans and several step-brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Lois Evans, three sons, Ronald Evans, Chickamauga, Lamar Evans, Rossville, and Harlin Evans, Ringgold, four grandchildren, one step-grandson, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 12 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Proctor and Reverend Eric Greeson officiating. Entombment will follow at the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
