The Daughters of the American Revolution took part in the Friends of Red Clay/Native American Services of Tennessee at Red Clay State Park.
The four chapters involved, Nancy Ward, Judge David Campbell, Moccasin Bend and Chickamauga, provided information on the historic native American sites in the area that the DAR helps preserve for future generations. The Nancy Ward grave site and the Brainerd Mission ceremony are considered an important part of all Americans' history.
There was also information on scholarships to Native Americans and ways that people can become DAR members. Many DAR chapters have Native American ties through their members.
The Children of the American Revolution helped young people make feathered headbands and passed out bottled water provided by the chapters and popcorn provided by the Carmike Theater in Cleveland.
