The Chattanooga Zoo will be offering half off Zoo admission to all guests on “Chilly Willy Wednesdays” this winter.
Chilly Willy Wednesdays is a chance for guests to come and enjoy a day at the Zoo for a discounted rate, and see the animals’ behavior in a different climate. Many of the Zoo’s animals tend to be more interactive and sociable during colder weather seasons. Some animals, such as snow leopards and red pandas, originate from colder climates and thus prefer the brisk winter air to hot summer days. In the winter months visitors can often catch many of the animals in outdoor exhibits frolicking and playing in their exhibit and paying close attention to their visitors.
Zoo CEO and President Darde Long notes how, “In the spring and summer, with thousands of guests coming to visit each day, the animals can start to tune out all the visitors but in the winter, the occasional visitors become more of a novelty and thing of interest to the animals.”
Chilly Willy Wednesdays will be every Wednesday, November through February 2015. With the half off admission price, adult admission is $4.47, child admission is $2.97, and children two and under receive free admission.
Daily keeper chats will also be offered on Chilly Willy Wednesdays to enhance the guest experience.
The Chattanooga Zoo is open seven days a week from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, please visit the Zoo website at www.chattzoo.org.
