Dimple Potter
Dimple Marie Plemons Potter, 91, of Ringgold, died on Saturday, October 25, 2014.
She was born in Dalton to the late Bill and Ollie Plemons, and has been a resident of Ringgold for the past 80 years. She was a member of Ringgold First Baptist Church, taking part in several choirs, The Mary Crawford Circle, and active in the Senior Adult Group. Dimple was part of The Auxiliary Volunteers at Hutcheson Medical Center for over 25 years, serving as the president for several years, a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 57 years, where she served as Worthy Grand Matron, and a member of the Women's Alhambra Shrine.Dimple loved the dinners with Merry Widows and Golden Girls, being with her grandchildren, traveling with friends to the beach, along with weekends with extended family at the cabins in the Georgia Mountains and going to the Braves games.
She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne L. Potter; brothers, Kenneth and Curtis Plemons; and grandson, Dan Toohey.
Dimple is survived by her children, Anita Potter of Ringgold, James (Eileen) of Lexington, and Waynelia (Art) Glaser of Marietta; grandchildren, Kellie Hayes of Louisville, Shannon Penegor of Lexington, Brittany Wehrman of Lexington, Morgan Wilson of Nashville, Kevin (Anna) Glaser of Atlanta, and Kimberly (Jennings) Pitts of Marietta; great-grandchildren, Connor Hays, Carter Penegor, Kyler Hays, Keegan Penegor, Ella Marie Wehrman, Harper Wehrman, Baylor Wehrman, Jackson Glaser, Lucy Glaser, Patrick Pitts, Peyton Pitts, and Parker Pitts; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Ringgold First Baptist Church, with Dr. Dan Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow in West Hills Cemetery, Dalton.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the funeral home, and from 10 a.m. until the start of the service on Wednesday at Ringgold First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to her beloved Ringgold First Baptist Church or Hospice of Chattanooga. The family would also like to give special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga, Sandy Perry, and Lorraine Glaser for their love and kindness during this difficult time.
