Nancie Garner Bailey, 61, died quietly on October 24, 2014.

A native of Rogers, Ar., Nancie leaves behind a devoted husband of 33 years, Jimmy; her mother, Rosemary Garner, of Rogers; daughters, Jocelyn Bailey and Laura Franklin; son-in-law, Selmon Ted Franklin IV; a brother and sister-in-law, Reece and Sherri Garner, of Seligman, Mo.; and dozens of wonderful family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Garner.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.

Nancie graduated from Rogers High School in 1971. She attended Harding University where she was Ko-Jo-Kai president and earned a business degree. She later earned an MBA from the University of Arkansas. She worked in north Alabama, where she met and married her Jimmy. They moved to Signal Mountain in 1986.

Nancie was a vibrant person who loved many. She sang beautifully, and when she went for the high notes, she usually hit them. She also loved children and possessed the gift of teaching them. She taught preschool for several years at Signal Crest, and spent most of her life teaching bible classes for children. Nancie was a dedicated member of Red Bank Church of Christ, where she helped build a Children’s Bible Time program. There, she was most famous for teaching the stories of Naaman, and of Jesus turning water to wine. For a time she served the Hamilton County schools as a bookkeeper, and most recently, as a board member of Bachman Community Center.

Nancie believed in a divine order until the very end, and in the salvation promised by her Lord. She and her family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Red Bank Church of Christ Mission Fund; Bachman Community Center; and Pancan.org.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
