James Wesley “Jimmy” Bailey Sr., 71, of Cleveland, TN, passed away early Thursday morning, October 23, 2014 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Jimmy was the son of the late Elizabeth Scoggins Bailey and Garnett Bailey; and was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Leo Green.

Jimmy was retired from M&M Mars with over 18 years of service. He enjoyed camping, antique cars, motorcycles and he was a member of the Main St. Cruise In. Jimmy loved his church and the Sanctuary Sunday School Class at the Philippi Baptist Church where he was a devoted member. 

Survivors include his devoted wife of 14 years, Barbara Green Bailey of Cleveland; his daughter, Carisa Winder and her husband Mike of Soddy Daisy; his son, James Wesley Bailey Jr. of Chattanooga; his step-son, Burt Davis of Cleveland; his granddaughter, April Patterson of Cleveland; his grandsons, Tyler Cruse of Chattanooga and Harrisyn Carter Cofer of Cleveland; his uncles, Leon Scoggins and his wife Jimmy Ruth of Ooltewah and Cletus Bailey of Cleveland; his brothers-in-law, Terry Green and his wife Josephine, Steve Green and his wife Wanda, Dale Green, Wayne Green, Ken Green and Dennis Glen Green; and several cousins.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Saturday, October 25 at 3 p.m. from the Philippi Baptist Church with Dr. Sammy Hooker officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Greg Bloom, Nathan Winder, Joshua Green, Danny Green, Alan Delaney and Deacon John Earls serving as casket bearers.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1-800-227-2345 or 6221 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37403.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, October 25 at the Philippi Baptist Church 2325 Old Harrison Pike, Cleveland.

The North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of the arrangements.
