Mikel “Mike” Skelton, 57, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2014 in a local hospital.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Marion Skelton; his paternal grandparents; his maternal grandparents, Glen and Nona Hannah; and his uncles, Jerry Hannah and John “Pete” Hannah.
Mike was retired from Whirlpool with over 38 years of service. He was a huge Tennessee Volunteer sports fan and enjoyed fishing. Mike was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he loved spending time with his family. Mike was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife Lynn Skelton of Cleveland; his daughter, Kelly Skelton Hixson; his son, Randy Skelton all of Cleveland; his grandchildren, Codey Hixson and Gracie Hixson both of Cleveland, Ashton, Austin and Trenton Skelton all of Dayton; his mother, Melba Hannah Rice of Cleveland; his sister, Renada Skelton also of Cleveland; his brother, Ricky Skelton and his wife Dee Dee of Calhoun, TN; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Friday, October 24, at 7 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Steve Gilbert officiating.
Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted Saturday, October 25 at 11 a.m. from the Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, October 24 before the service at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
