The Dalton State Lady Roadrunner Golf Team wraps-up the fall portion of the schedule on Monday and Tuesday by playing some of the best teams from around the country on the host course for next spring’s NAIA National Championships.

Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Savannah is hosting the NAIA Fall Preview on the course at Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, Ga. The Lady Roadrunners come off of an outstanding performance in the recent Chick-Fil-A Invitational in Rome.

Dalton State finished second, just one stroke out of first. The first year team also had the school’s first women’s medalist. Erika Wardzinski gained the honor.

“We are extremely excited about going to Savannah for the Preview,” said DS Coach Jim McGrew.

“We have had a great fall,” McGrew added. “This will show us where we stand with the top teams in the NAIA as we head into the offseason. Four of the top ten teams will be there along with us.”

The impressive 17-team field includes nine teams from the NAIA top 25.

Scheduled participants include # 13 Dalton State, #5 Belleview University (NE), Brenau University (GA), #15 College of Coastal Georgia, #21 Embry-Riddle (FL), Grand View University (IA), Indiana Tech, Lindsey Wilson (KY), Johnson & Wales (FL), Marian University (IN), #2 Norwood University (FL), #4 SCAD Savannah (2 teams), SCAD Atlanta, #25 Southeastern University (FL), #9 Wayland Baptist University (TX) and #20 William Penn (IA).

The impressive course is a 72 par, 6010 yards venue designed by famed golfer and course designer Greg Norman.
