Two Maryville, Tn., residents were arrested on several charges on Thursday in Bradley County.

The arrests of Melissa Bonzer, 31, and Dareius Clinton, 35, were the result of a traffic stop by members of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigation Division at the 27-mile marker on I-75.

The vehicle driven by Ms. Bonzer made an improper turn onto the exit ramp, crossing the dividing line. Officers deployed a K-9 partner for an outdoor scan of the vehicle, leading to a search that turned up a large amount of crystal methamphetamine in a sandwich bag between the passenger seat and center console.

Further search located a fully-loaded Glock 29 pistol between the driver’s seat and console. The weapon was found to be stolen out of California. Mr. Clinton admitted to possessing the firearm.

Charges filed against Ms. Bonzer included possession of schedule II for resale and improper turn. Clinton is charged with possession of schedule II for resale, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of stolen property over $500 and possession of a firearm during a felony.

Ms. Bonzer and Clinton were booked into the Bradley County Jail.
