What You Get When You Vote - And Response

  • Wednesday, October 22, 2014

I for one will be glad when this election cycle is over and we don't have to see anymore political ads for awhile. Many of the ads that are currently running would have you think that they are running against President Obama, but he is not on the ballot.  I guess since they don't want to run on their own records or lack thereof, they have to try and stir up the base and the hate, which many on the right seem to have since the black man moved into the White House.

If you plan to vote for a Republican, you are voting for more gridlock, the party of no, the party of fear...to continue the run of the worst, least effective Congress on record.  They claim to want less government intervention while at the same time wanting to legislate women's health choices and who people can marry.  They are counting on you being uninformed and indifferent and they want to scare you into voting against your own best interest.  They have a long laundry list..immigrants are going to take your jobs, healthcare is in shambles, terrorists are at the border, ebola is going to kill us all, voter fraud...the list goes on.....all not true.

If you vote for a Democrat, you are voting for continued job growth and job creation, healthcare and tax reform, for continuing to grow the economy after it was devastated from the last Republican administration...but they are counting on you forgetting about that. I am also sickened by the spineless Democrats who now are afraid to invoke the name of our President or admit that they voted for him, or not, as if it is going to make a difference with the right.

While I agree with Mr. Fricke that we have seen enough political ads, I find some of his other statements to be somewhat unreasonable. He states many of the ads that are currently running would have you think that the Republicans are running against President Obama. Maybe that’s because he is the most powerful Democrat and the one with the most opportunity to further their agenda. We've seen examples of this in many of his executive orders that a great majority on both sides has disagreed with. It seems to me that many of the Democrats aren't running on his or their records either.

He goes on to write that if you vote Republican, you are voting for more gridlock, the party of no, the party of fear, and the least effective Congress on record. When someone acts as lawlessly and on his own, with no consideration for input from any others (even some of those in his own party), as President Obama has, I am glad they don’t rubber stamp some of the bills he wants. There are a great number of job creating bills the Republicans have worked on that the Senate won't bring up for a vote. Republicans aren't responsible for this gridlock on their own. I  would think the healthcare bill they passed, saying they would read it after they voted it in, would be a good example of one that has shown to have needed a little more scrutiny from everyone. This bill has been changed 42 times so far. http://www.galen.org/newsletters/changes-to-obamacare-so-far/

He also writes “immigrants are going to take your jobs, healthcare is in shambles, terrorists are at the border, ebola is going to kill us all, voter fraud...the list goes on.....all not true”. If these are not true, then we must conclude that health care is doing fine, the border is sealed, Ebola is not a danger to anyone, and there’s no reason to have a photo ID when voting. Although we do need a photo ID to go to the doctor, board a plane, buy alcohol or cigarettes, open a bank account, apply for food stamps or welfare, rent a car, etc.

Then he writes, if you vote for a Democrat, you are voting for… well, just more of the same we've had for the past six years.
