Several Arrested Outside Erlanger Hospital When Crowd Gathers After Woodlawn Shooting

  • Wednesday, October 22, 2014

Several people were arrested Monday night outside Erlanger Hospital after a crowd gathered and clashed with police.

The crowd included family and friends of 20-year-old Apprentice Berry, who was shot multiple times and killed earlier Monday night at the Woodlawn Apartments on Wilson Street.

Erlanger officials said the group gathered at the emergency room, but were later moved by an off-duty deputy sheriff across the street.

More county deputies were called to the scene along with city officers when the situation became chaotic, officials said.

Those arrested included Samuel Campbell, Jaqua Davenport and Patra Lawrence, along with the victim's sister, Akeyllya Berry, who allegedly she tried to fight a deputy who reportedly used a stun gun on her.

Other officers used pepper spray during the incident.
