Carl David Harden, 78, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at his home peacefully, surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 3, 1936 to the late Fred and Cleo Harden. Carl had been a Cleveland resident for 58 years. He enjoyed woodworking and watching the Atlanta Braves. Above all things, however, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his first born son, Ricky David Harden; three sisters, Imogene Crumley, Frances Leamon and Louise Landers; and three brothers, Ralph Harden, Wallace Harden and Herman Harden.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nell Lee Harden; five children, Don Harden (Chantel), Marilyn Gibson (Rick), Randy Harden (Whitney), Renee Harden and Jeff Harden; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Leamon and Betty Julian; special friend, Marvin Buckner; and several other extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday October 22, at Bancroft Church of God located at 180 Bancroft Road, McDonald, TN 37353.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 22 from 5-8 p.m. at the church before the service.
Interment will be held on Thursday October 23, at 11 a.m. at Earls Cemetery.
