Owned And Operated Several Chattanooga Restaurants

Jessie Ownbey, 80, of Rossville, died on Tuesday, October 21, 2014.

She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area where she owned and operated several restaurants. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ownbey and a sister, Ruby Scott.

Survivors include her sons, Edwin (Tammie) Ownbey of Woodstock, Ga., Robert (Robin) Ownbey of Jacksonville, Fl.; daughter, Carla Parsons of Rossville, and a brother, Robert (Diane) Thacker of Rock Springs, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday. Oct. 24, at 2 p.m.in the Lane South Crest Chapel.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 p.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
