Roy Lee Nance, 80, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, died on Friday, October 17, 2014. 

He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Roy was a United States Army Veteran and he had retired from U.S. Stove and C&D Engineering. He played, managed, and umpired softball for several years and he was an avid reader. 

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Mae Nance; a brother, L.C. Nance and two nephews, Wayne and Carl Nance. 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Freida Nance; children, Karen Nance Hensley, Diane Nance (Jeff) Boston, and Ron Nance; two granddaughters, Tara May and Jesseca Nance; three grandsons, Ty Hensley, Colby Nance and Walker Boston; brothers, Ruel Nance and Nuel Nance; sisters, Iva Tyler, Emma Sue Hill and Fay (Larry) McCuistion along with several nieces and nephews. 

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Herschel Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, with military honors.

Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
