Maxine Boston Miller, 70, of Signal Mountain, TN, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga.
She was a member of Hopewell Road Baptist Church. She was a gifted artist who loved to paint, draw and read. She was a loving mother and spirited and positive lady, and was well known by her church family for her coconut cakes.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Dawson Grant; parents, Joe D. and Juanita Boston; three sisters, Billie Louis Boston, Joann Lanier and Mary Lee Higdon; and brother, Danny Ray Boston.
She is survived by her three daughters, Shannon Miller, Signal Mountain, Kim Garner, Sherwood, TN and Cheryl Wineland, Panama, OK; two sons, Dale Grant, Warrior, AL and David Grant, Dunlap; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Sue Harvey, Dunlap, Margie Harvey, Lewis Chapel and Geraldine Morton, Signal Mountain; two brothers, Ricky and Isaac Boston, both of Dunlap; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 21 at 1 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dennis Boston officiating. Burial will be in Hixson Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap, where the family will receive friends Monday, October 18 from 4-9 p.m. CDT.
