Sauzon, Loza Lead Moc Golfers At Mercedes-Benz Collegiate

The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team improved by 19 strokes on day two of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate at Cherokee Country Club. Today’s 298 gives the squad a 615 total which is five behind Michigan in 12th at 610. The Mocs bested playing partners Penn State and East Tennessee State by three and eight shots, respectively.

Agathe Sauzon and Isabella Loza shot team-best 72s, one-over par scores on the par 71 tract.

Their six-over total (148) is tied for 17th heading into Sunday’s final round. Emily McLennan and Megan Woods also had matching scores with 77s. Sarah Dolmovich had the drop tally with an 82.

 

Louisville (580) flipped a four-shot opening 18 deficit into a three-shot lead. The Cardinals shot 287 to pass first round leader Kent State (583). No. 2 South Carolina is in third at 584. The Gamecocks’ Nanna Madsen is in first individually at 1 under (141). Alina Rogers is in second at even par (142), while Hannah Pietila (Tennessee is in third at 1 over (143).

 

The final round Sunday starts at 9:25 a.m., Eastern time start for the Mocs. Dolmovich leads off No. 10 followed by Woods (9:35), McLennan (9:45), Loza (9:55) and Sauzon (10:05).
