Apparently We Can't Be Trusted With Our Reproductive Freedoms

Letter to the Women of Tennessee from selected state politicians,

We would like to take a few moments to say thank you for your contributions and acknowledge our women veterans who have fought and died for our country.  While you were away serving your country we have taken some liberties. We have been working diligently to manage your reproductive choices.

The laws in Tennessee now include a federal law that states women must ensure their birth control choices do not offend the religious beliefs of their boss.  We continue to vote against the Affordable Care Act so in the event you have not “made the right choices” in your life, you will have limited recourses to pay for your birth control and in the event of rape or incest you and your family will pay the medical bills and no compensation will be paid for your lost work.

The last reproductive liberty that must be legislated is your right to an abortion “including, but not limited to, circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest or when necessary to save the life of the mother.”  We respect the contributions of the women of Tennessee, but you and your families still cannot be trusted with your reproductive freedoms.

Supporters of Tennessee Amendment #1 -  Governor Haslam, Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey, U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander, U.S. Rep. Dianne Black and other state representatives.

If you support the personal "Freedom of Choice" for women and their family in the event of rape, incest, or the life of the mother, please vote no on Tennessee Amendment #1.
