Camp Chair Cinema Oct. 16
"The Crossing"
The Lookout Wild Film Festival andRvrRox will co-host a free, public screening of"The Crossing," on Thurs., Oct.
16, 7 p.m.
, at the Renaissance Park Circle Amphitheater. The Crossing is an account of two very exuberant young Australians who attempt, twice, to cross Canada's Victoria Island by foot. BYO-Camp chair, picnic blanket and beverages. We'll provide the popcorn. In case of rain, the screening will happen indoors at Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park.

Fireside at Greenway Oct. 16
Lou Wamp and the Bluetastics
Outdoor Chattanooga will continue our popular Fireside at Greenway Farm series with Lou Wamp and the Bluetastics, this Thurs., Oct. 9, 7 to 9 p.m. at the City of Chattanooga's Greenway Farm, 5051 Gann Store Rd., in Hixson. Bring kids, blankets and something to roast over the fire. Next Fireside: Thurs., Oct. 23 with Randy Steele and Friends.

Open Canoeing - Before the Fireside Program
Rent a canoe on Fireside evenings, from 6 to 7 p.m., for a family paddle on N. Chickamauga Creek. Cost is $20 per canoe. No reservations are necessary. Just show up and paddle. Outdoor Chattanooga will provide all equipment. Infants and small toddlers need to bring their own life jackets. 

Chickamauga Battlefield Bicycle Tour Oct. 18
Enjoy historical stories of the Civil War while bicycling through Chickamauga Battlefield on Sat., Oct. 19, at 9:30 a.m. Hosted by the Friends of Outdoor Chattanooga and the Friends of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, this free event is available to adults and children ages 8 and older when accompanied by an adult. Bring your own bicycle or borrow one from the Outdoor Chattanooga Mobile Bicycle Fleet. Helmets are required. To reserve a bicycle, call(706)-866-9241.
Street Smarts Cycling Class Oct. 20
Cars, pedestrians, busses, on ramps, intersections, turn lanes, traffic lights . . . how do you deal with all these things when you're on a bicycle? Street Smarts Cycling Class is the best first step towards learning how to drive your bicycle in traffic. Hosted by Outdoor Chattanooga, this free class happens at 6 p.m., on Mon., Oct. 20 at Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park. Reservations are required and can be made by emailing Outdoor Chattanooga or calling(423)-643-6888.
Free Workshop: Yoga for Runners Oct. 23
The Chattanooga Track Club will host a free, public workshop, Yoga for Runners, onThurs., Oct. 23, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park. Instructor Hillary Libby will demonstrate yoga practice and share healthy eating choices for optimal performance in runners. All interested members of the public are welcome. 
 
Registration Deadline Approaches: Electric Bike Eco-Tour Oct. 25 & 26
Try bicycle touring with a twist of the throttle! Outdoor Chattanooga will partner with Electric Bike Specialists to host an electric bicycle eco-tour to Mountain Cove Farms on Sat. & Sun., Oct. 25 & 26. Take a very leisurely ride from downtown through the lovely countryside of North GA, dine at the Farm's restaurant, camp overnight, then enjoy a camp breakfast before bicycling back to town. Cost is $85 per person and includes breakfast and lunch, camping accommodations, van support, guides and Motiv Sleek 6-speed electric bicycles. Hiketoberfest Oct. 19
The Friends of the Cumberland Trail will host a day of hiking, music, workshops and more atHiketoberfestSun., Oct. 19, from9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Shackleford Ridge Park on Signal Mtn. Guided hikes, native plant sales, naturalists, herbalists, ornothologists and an old time jam session are all part of the event. Funds raised benefit programs an initiatives to build and sustainCumberland Trail State Park.
Urban Campout Oct. 18
Adults and kids can indulge in a very special urban outdoor experience on Sat., Oct. 18 with the Urban Campout in Renaissance Park. The whole family can enjoy a catered dinner, bonfire, an outdoor movie and live music under the tree canopy of the park. For the truly adventurous, Tentsile will set up their elevated tents, completely equipped, for the family to camp overnight in the park. View ticket information and make a reservation.

Seven Bridges Marathon Oct. 19
The 7 Bridges Marathon will bring hoards of runners to the Scenic City on Sun., Oct. 19, 7 a.m., starting in Coolidge Park. The event course crosses 7 downtown bridges, including the Walnut St. Bridge, Olgiati and Veterans. Runners may also participate in a half marathon, 5K or Family Fun Run.

IMAX Reel Rock Tour: Valley Uprising: Yosemite's Rock Climbing Revolution 
Oct. 23
Reel Rock 9 Valley Uprising is coming to rock downtown Chattanooga Thurs., Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the IMAX theater, 1 Broad St. Presented by Triple Crown Bouldering, the film covers the interesting emergence of climbing from the Yosemite Valley. Tickets are $16 online and at the door if space permits.
Ragnar Relay Oct. 24-25
Coolidge Park will be buzzing with activity from the pre-dawn hours through the day on Fri., Oct. 24, when the Tennessee Ragnar Relay starts. Van loads of runners will do an overnight relay to Nashville to raise money for Soles for Souls.

Edward Yates Highlining Exhibition Oct. 24-25
Local world-class slackliner Edward Yates will be "high lining," or slacklining at great heights, Fri., Oct. 24, at 5:30 p.m. and Sat., at 11:00 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. between the pyramids of the Tennessee Aquarium, 1 Broad St. The public is invited to see this spectacle from the Aquarium Plaza.

Signal Mountain Pie Run Oct. 25 The Chattanooga Track Club will host the Signal Mountain Pie Run 10K Sat., Oct. 25, starting 8 a.m. at the Signal Mountain Athletic Club, 315 Ault Rd. Registration begins at 7 and costs $10.
 
Salomon CITYTRAIL Race Oct. 25
Rock/Creek will host the Salomon CITYTRAIL race, a road/trail race hybrid, Sat., Oct. 25, starting 8 a.m. at Renaissance Park, 100 Manufacturer's Rd. There will be a 30K and 10K option. Registration is $65. Online registration will close Thurs., Oct. 23 at noon.

Triple Crown Bouldering Competition: Stone Fort Oct. 25
The Stonefort Triple Crown Bouldering Competition will be Sat., Oct. 25, at 8:30 a.m. at Montlake Golf Course, 9104 Brow Lake Rd., Soddy Daisy, TN. This is the second event of the Triple Crown Series, the Southeast's largest outdoor rock climbing competition. On-site registration will be 7-8:30 a.m. and costs $50, which includes a t-shirt, registration package and breakfast. Spectator fees will be $10. For more information, call Chad Wykle (423)305-1522.

Chattajack 31 Oct. 25
One hundred and fifty standup paddleboarders and racing kayakers from all over the country will paddle 31 miles of the TN River on Sat., Oct. 25 for the 3rd annualChattajack31 race. To watch the epic start, be on the downtown riverfront by 8 a.m.

RvrRox Grand Finale Oct. 25
The public is invited to the RvrRox Grand Finale party in Coolidge Park, on Sat., Oct. 25, beginning at 4 p.m.Family activities, climbing, slacklining and acro yoga demonstrations, music and food trucks will all be part of the free activities.
