Brenda Freeman Short To Speak At McMinn County Democratic Women’s Club

Brenda Freeman Short will be the guest speaker at the McMinn County Democratic Women’s Club on Thursday at 5 p.m.  The meeting will be held at the McMinn County Democratic Headquarters at 9 Kilgore Street, Athens, Tn.

Ms. Short will speak on The Role of the Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women.  Ms. Short was elected as East Tennessee vice president of the Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women in 2013 and has 17 counties under her leadership.  She is past president of the JFK Club, a political club for Democrats.  She was a candidate for U.S. House of Representatives for the 3rd District of Tennessee in 2010.  She was elected as a Charter Commissioner of East Ridge and serves as a community and political leader.

She received her law degree from Nashville School Law.  She is a member of Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute where she serves on the Woman Impacting Policy Committee.  Ms. Short is a public speaker and travels internationally.
