Junior League of Chattanooga Gives $22,000 To Hamilton County Teachers

Junior League of Chattanooga announced the winners ofthe 2014 MiniGrants for Teachers Program. JLC awarded 28 MiniGrants in increments up to $750 each to Hamilton County public school teachers for creative and unique projects.  These grants will be implemented in 18 schools and will affect over 4,100 students this year alone.

Three additional Hamilton County teachers were awarded MiniGrants in increments up to $1,500 for inspired and particular projects focusing on JLC’s initiative Seeds of Change. "Thanks to our generous corporate sponsor, Hamico, Inc. and Kashi Foods, JLC awarded more than $22,000 to fund these important projects," officials said.

JLC honored the MiniGrants recipients Tuesday with a reception at the Junior League House.  Recipients were thanked for inspiring young minds and enriching the lives of the children in the community.  A list of the teachers who were awarded MiniGrants at the reception, along with their school and winning project, are as follows (teacher(s), school, project):
