Joshua Melvin, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away, Sunday, September 28, 2014, at his residence.
He retired after 27 years of service from U.S. Pipe & Foundry and was a member and deacon of Stephen Temple C. P. Church.
He was a Prince Hall Affliated member of Lillie White Lodge #293, Mystic Chapter #11 (HRAM), Oriental Commandery #27, Alfrada Consistory #65, and Hyksos Temple #123 (Shriner.)
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Melvin, of 27 years; children, Gayle (Lonnie) Conley, Janice Mitchell, Ashley Suggs, Calvin and Billy Hall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 3, 2014 at noon at Stephen Temple C.P. Church. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East. The body will lie-in-state Thursday, October 2, 2014 from noon until 8 p.m. Family hour will be 7-8 p.m. in the chapel.
