23 Lawyers Apply For 2 Magistrate Posts

Twenty-three attorneys have applied for the two vacancies as magistrate (judicial commissioners).

The applicants to the County Commission include incumbents Larry Ables and Jeffrey Davis.

The magistrates set bonds and sign warrants at the county jail. They provide coverage on nights and weekends.

City Council Approves Data Arrangement For Sewer Bills With California Firm

The City Council on Tuesday agreed to pay a California firm $120,000 on a one-year contract to aid helping interpret data from the water company for use in sewer bills.
