Parkridge And Lifeguard Ambulance Service Host “Battle of the Buzz”

  • Monday, September 16, 2013

Area firefighters, EMS, and law enforcement personnel are invited to ‘brave the shave’ on October 12 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Parkridge Medical Center in the First Annual Battle of the Buzz competition benefiting the Chattanooga American Cancer Society (ACS).

Area first responders are challenged to show their support for the fight against cancer by raising a minimum of $50 for the ACS in order to have their head shaved at the October 12 event.

Funds raised by each first responder service will be totaled to see who will win bragging rights as Champions of the Battle of the Buzz 2013.

All proceeds from the event will be used to purchase wigs and head coverings for cancer patients undergoing treatment. “We are so excited to have the support of The Sarah Cannon Cancer Center at Parkridge Medical Center and Lifeguard Ambulance Service,” said Lisa Bishop, executive director of the Chattanooga branch of the American Cancer Society. “Wigs and headcoverings can make a big difference in the self-esteem of individuals who are undergoing treatment, and we appreciate everyone’s efforts to help provide these resources to our community.”

For more information or to participate in the event, please contact Ashley Brown at Parkridge Medical Center at 493-6799 or Ashley.Brown@HCAHealthcare.com, or Bobby Westberry with Lifeguard Ambulance Service at 315-5481 or Bobby.Westberry@lifeguardambulance.com.
