Javadi Wins Women's City Golf Championship

Former Baylor School standout Emily Javadi won the Chattanooga Women's Golf Association city tournament on Thursday with a 3 and 2 victory over Carlene Ryon in the  championship match.

Javadi was an NCAA Division II All-American during her freshman season last year at Sewanee.

Kathy Vaughn beat Virginia Ready, 2 and 1, for the first-flight championship.

Sonja Herring defeated Gaill Gann, 5 and 3, in the second-flight final.

Susan Thurman was the senior division medalist with an 82.

Wesley Cash and Sue Bartlett posted doubles wins Wednesday to lead their respective teams to victory in the 2014 ITF Seniors World Team Championships in Boca Raton, Fla.
