The USDA visited the Chattanooga Zoo Friday for a license re-instatement inspection. Dr. Susanne Brunkhorst of the USDA noted no violations in her inspection report and approved the Zoo’s license application.
“The Chattanooga Zoo is in the best shape it has ever been and that is a real tribute to the hard work and professionalism of our staff,” notes Dardenelle Long, Zoo CEO. “Our staff has been trained to perform internal inspections of their areas on a regular basis so as to keep our exhibits and animal care programs comprehensive and up-to-date.”
The Chattanooga Zoo’s will remain open for its regularly scheduled hours from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and even stay open late the last two Thursdays in July for those Zoo -goers wanting to beat the heat. All previously scheduled Zoo special events, camps and birthday parties will continue as planned.
