Woman Spots Her Stolen Ring At Pawn Shop; Megan Avans Charged

A woman said she spotted her stolen $2,000 ring at a pawn shop, leading police to arrest Megan Avans.

Ms. Avans, 29, of 3370 Browndell Road, is charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000.

Kari Fowler said she was at EZ-Pawn at 3601 Rossville Blvd. when she spotted a ring that she had bought from Markmans on Dec. 18, 2003, for $1,985.42.

It was among items taken in a burglary Sept. 28, 2011.

Investigator Joe Kerns said Ms. Avans pawned the ring belonging to Ms.

Fowler just hours after the burglary.

Ms. Avans is facing several other burglary charges.
