String Theory at the Hunter will open its fifth season on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Hunter Museum of American Art with a concert featuring the Brentano String Quartet and Gloria Chien, String Theory Founder. The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera continues its Masterworks Series at the Tivoli Theatre on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. featuring a performance of Copland's Lincoln Portrait, narrated by city of Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke. The CSO will also hold auditions for children ages 6-14 on Tuesday from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Tivoli Center for their Home for the Holidays performances in December. The Shaking Ray Levi Society's Old-Timey Avant-Garde Series continues at the Barking Legs Theater with a celebration of Dennis Palmer's birthday Friday-Sunday featuring performances by Konk Pack and Nief-Norf Project as well as the screenings of Dennis Palmer Date Night Movies.
