Classes To Resume Wednesday At Loftis Middle School; Notre Dame Closed After Water Main Rupture

Classes will resume at Loftis Middle School on Wednesday after two days off following extensive vandalism at the school.

Vandals early Monday morning ransacked the school and set fire to a couch in the teachers lounge. There was additional damage after sprinklers came on.

Meanwhile, students at Notre Dame School were sent home early Tuesday after a landslide on the side of Missionary Ridge caused a water main to rupture.

Classed at Notre Dame are canceled for Wednesday.


Erlanger Cuts Monthly Loss To $249,056

Erlanger Health System, which reported a major loss last month, cut the loss to $249,056 for April. Kevin Spiegel, new president and CEO, said admissions were up, but the hospital did not control its operating costs as well as it should. Silverdale Baptist Academy now knows its first-round opponent in the Class A state baseball tournament in Murfreesboro. State Soccer Brackets Released

The state tournament brackets were released early Sunday morning.  In Class A/AA Notre Dame will face off with White House at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday East Hamilton drew Christ Presbyterian Academy on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.   White House is currently ranked fourth in the state wide Eurosport rankings.  Notre Dame is seventh and Notre dame is seventh.
