The American Queen is coming to Chattanooga and WTCI-TV, Chattanooga’s PBS station, is hosting a fundraising event on Aug. 20 on the largest steamboat ever built.
The event will celebrate the new documentary Death and the Civil War with a tour of the American Queen, a seated lunch, a meet and greet with acclaimed American Experience producer Mark Samels and a preview screening of the documentary. Death and the Civil War will air on WTCI on Sept. 18.
Guests attending the WTCI event will enjoy the preview screening in the grand saloon of the opulent steamboat, a room modeled after Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C. Tickets to the fundraising event are $250 per couple and are a tax-deductible donation to the PBS station.
Contact Debbie Thomas at 702-7814 or at dthompson@wtcitv.org for reservations. Seating is limited.
