Maxine "Mackie" Binns, 80, of Dalton, GA, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012. 

She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Rufus Whitener and Mrs. Lucille Whitener; two sisters; three brothers; aunts and uncles.

Survivors are her children, Mrs. Shelva (Samuel) Savage of Horn Lake, MS, Mr. George Binns of Tunnel Hill, Ms. Janice Binns of Dalton and Mr. James Binns of Norcross, GA; five grandchildren, Okema Fields, Phillip Brandon Fields, Essence Bonds, Denesha Binns and Benjamin Powell; four great- grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Helen King, Mrs. LaWanda (Joseph) Williams and Mrs. Cathy (“Penny”) Cummings of Dalton; special friend, Mrs. Ida Bonds; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Home going service will be held Sunday, August 12, at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor, Dr. Charles McAfee and Dr. Jerry D. Jones, Sr. officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday, August 11 after 11 a.m. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
