Lookout Mountain's Steve Johnson In 3rd At State Amateur

KNOXVILLE -- Lookout Mountain's Steve Johnson is third after the opening round of the 97th Annual Tennessee Amateur Championship.

Johnson shot an opening round 67 at the Cherokee Country Club.

He trails Lexus Keoninh of Murfreesboro, who was at 65, and Tim Jackson of Germantown, who each shot 66. 

Brooks Thomas of Chattanooga and Cleveland's John Maupin are among those tied for 30th after shooting a 71. Andrews Weathers of Chattanooga and Patrick Clossin of Ooltewah came in at 72.

At 73, were Gordon Hulgan of Signal Mountain and Blake Maum of Chattanooga.
