Police Have 3 Juveniles In Custody On 5 Armed Robberies In 2 And Half Hour Period

Chattanooga Police have three juveniles in custody in connection with five armed robberies that occurred within a two and a half hour period Friday morning.

The holdups were between 5 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. 

Investigators located three juvenile males in the 1600 block of Arlington Avenue.  They have also located the automobile they were using, police said. 

The robberies occurred at the following locations:

Outside of Memorial Hospital, 2525 DeSales Ave.

(60-year-old male victim).  Time of call was 5:17 a.m.

BiLo parking lot, 6951 Lee Hwy. (41-year-old female victim).  Time of call was 6:37 a.m.

400 block of N. Howell Avenue (43-year-old female victim).  Time of call was 6:57 a.m.

500 block of Arlington Avenue (49-year-old male victim).  Time of call was 7:01 a.m.

700 block of Arlington Avenue (64-year-old male victim).  Time of call was 7:11 a.m.

The suspects shot at the victim at 500 Arlington Ave., but he was not injured.

Police said the trio physically assaulted the victim at 700 Arlington Ave. He sustained minor injuries. 

In all instances, the victims were by themselves either in/near a parking lot or out walking in a residential neighborhood.

Bondsman Higgins Gets 30-Day Suspension

A bondsman has had his ability to act as a bondsman suspended for 30 days after two complaints were filed against him. The Criminal Court judges held a hearing and then put down the suspension against Dexter Higgins of Key Bonding.
