A small exhibit covering the history of transportation in south Walker County is on display at Chattooga Academy in LaFayette.
The exhibit features photographs of some of the former service stations and car dealerships in LaFayette, including information on LaFayette’s Hupmobile dealership. The exhibit also features a model train and the former LaFayette depot’s ticket booth.
A volunteer will be on-hand to assist visitors with the exhibit on Sundays from 1-3 p.m. Chattooga Academy is open between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. most Mondays through Thursdays and from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays. Please call ahead to make sure a volunteer will be available.
The building is at 304 N. Main St., LaFayette. Admission is free. The exhibit will run through Sunday, Sept. 30. For more information, call 706/639-1519.
