Falling Water Elementary School in Hixson turns 100 this year. The school opened its doors in 1912.
There will be a celebration with a special flag raising ceremony Monday at 8:45 a.m. Local veterans from Chapter 203 will be performing a 21 gun salute and raising the colors. Students will also be singing. All are welcome.
There will also be a dinner to commemorate the event on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 4-8 p.m. Advanced tickets will be $6 available at the school office, 843-4711, and $8 at the door. There will be a special children's production, slide show and silent auction.
Everyone is invited to come and visit with former teachers, principals, friends and local dignitaries.
