Reba Woods Patmon, 84, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012 in a local hospital.  

She was formerly employed by Dr. Harold Schwartz and was a faithful member of East Third Street Church of Christ and later moved her membership to the Southside Church of Christ where she remained faithful until her health failed.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie H. Patmon, Jr.; sons, Willie Patmon III and Willie Frank Patmon, Jr.; daughter, Hazel Woods; parents, Hosea and Maggie Woods; brother, Walker Woods; sisters, Sarah Woods, Hattie Mae Woods and Cora Lee Ritchie.  

Survivors include sons, David Patmon, Aamory Patmon both of Los Angeles, CA, Johnny (Colby) Patmon of Chattanooga, Arthur (Barbara) Patmon of Commerce, GA, James (Ernestine) Patmon of Conyers, GA and Harrison (Linda) Patmon of Winder, GA; daughters, Sheila (Robert) Barnette and Eleanor (Ivan) Dutton both of Chattanooga; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Hosea Woods, Jr. of Chattanooga; sisters, Corine Johnson and Henrietta Belle both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.  

Visitation will be on Thursday, Aug.16, from 6-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.  

Funeral services will be on Friday, Aug. 17, at 12:30 p.m. at the East Third Street Church of Christ with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
