Verizon To Cover 76,000 More Chattanoogans With 4G LTE On Thursday

Wednesday, August 15, 2012
More Verizon Wireless customers in more places around Chattanooga, will have access to the company’s 4G LTE high-speed wireless broadband network on Thursday. The network expansion will provide 76,000 additional customers with 4G LTE coverage—the industry standard for speed on smartphones, tablets and hotspots—with speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G data networks.

“We launched 4G LTE in Chattanooga in July of last year, and we are continuing to put considerable resources into the community here,” said Jerry Fountain, president of Verizon Wireless’ Carolinas/Tennessee region.
“We understand the positive impact access to high-speed wireless Internet can have on the local economy, education and business, and this expansion is another investment to demonstrate Verizon’s commitment to the Chattanooga community.”

This expansion will also make Verizon’s HomeFusion residential broadband service available to more Chattanoogans, a solution particularly advantageous for customers who live in areas where Internet options are limited or unavailable.

Verizon’s 4G LTE service is available to more than 230 million people across the United States, including more than 85 percent of Tennessee’s population. The company plans to have 4G LTE in more than 400 U.S. markets by the end of 2012. For more information on the network, as well as Verizon’s 4G LTE device line-up, visit www.verizonwireless.com/lte.
