Mel Madaris To Sing This Sunday At Brainerd Presbyterian

Wednesday, August 01, 2012
Singer Mel Madaris will sing this Sunday at Brainerd Presbyterian Church for the 10:45 Service.  Mel has become one of the regular guest soloists for the church and his music is always greatly appreciated by the congregation.

He will sing In the Garden medley, Were it not for Grace and I'd Rather have Jesus. He has enjoyed an extensive career as a professional singer of gospel music.  Mel and his family, The Madaris Family Singers, traveled throughout the southeast for many years performing at thousands of churches.  He has also performed with Bill Shaw of the Blackwood Brothers gospel quartert and has performed with such noted musicians and personalities as Ray Charles, Bill Anderson, Jerry Clower and Glenn Draper. Mel has been a featured soloist for many years in the ministries of Ben Haden and First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga.

Ben Haden, the founder and speaker for "Changed Lives," an international radio, television and internet ministry, said, "Mel has reached my heart and my mind for 30 years with his music. I love his voice."

Mel is heavily involved in the business life of the Chattanooga community, serving as Founder and President of Improve America, Inc. He co-hosts the radio program "Home Fix It" with Jed Mescon on WGOW the first Saturday of each month and appears frequently as a special guest on WRCB Channel 3's "Three Plus You."

Director of Music Ministries, Dr. Tom Hammett said, "Mel Madaris has one of the smoothest, most sincere and serene voices I've ever heard. His tranquil and reflective delivery of vocal lyrics captivates the listener's imagination, and he sings the Gospel message straight to your heart."

Brainerd Presbyterian Church is located at 1624 Jenkins Road, just off of East Brainerd Road. Services begin at 10:45 a.m. Phone the church office for additional information at 899-2424.
