Almond-Rosemary Crusted Tuna with Asian Salad

When you step into Fresh 2 Order (or F2O) you are greeted immediately by someone who asks you if you have ever been there before. If you haven’t, they are ready to instruct you and hand you a menu, tell you to have a seat wherever you would like while you decide what you want to order and, when you are ready to order you go up front to the cashier.

F2O is a nice place with adequate lighting, nice art pieces and a place to eat outside if you wish. I have never seen such a variety of such good foods in one place! I think you could please any type of eater here.

The idea is fresh, healthy food, but I think even if someone is only a McDonald’s eater – that they would like this place!

You really taste the flavors of the food. After such a hot week, I thought a nice salad sounded hydrating and refreshing. There were so many to choose from! Since it was mid-day and I like to eat my lunch and dinner at the same time, I wanted to add meat to my salad.

There were over nine different salads to choose from, but you can add what you want to the salad and change it up even more. The Fig, Market and Mediterranean salads looked wonderful and so did the Asian salad. There were several add-ons to choose from as well. I had never seen so much to choose from. An old lady like me could be there all day just trying to decide!

I thought the Almond-Rosemary crusted tuna looked delicious so I paired that with the Asian salad. It comes with a Honey Dijon dressing, but I wanted Balsamic dressing and they accommodate you in whatever changes you want to make.

Now I know that some of you would scoff at the Seared Tofu or Calamari that you could add, but they also had Bourbon Grilled Salmon, Bourbon Filet Steak, Crispy Ale Laced Chicken and Blackened Lime Shrimp. That is only half of what was on the menu. You could even get BBQ Pork! They also had over 14 dressings!

This was just the salad section of the menu! I would have to write in chapters to even begin to tell you what they offer in a good hot meal! It ranges from grilled pizzas and Panini’s to steak, chicken or pork dishes, and there are a variety of sides to choose from too. I think you could eat something different at this place every day for a year!

There were things I had never heard of like Orange Chili Glaze, Kalamata Tapenade and Apricot Chutney. They carry my favorite bottled water, Fiji, and have it readily cold on ice, but they also have fresh lemonade that has a pretty star-shaped spice floating on top. The way the food is prepared, how fresh it tastes and with all that F2O has to offer I expected to pay a hefty price but it was no more than what I pay would at O’ Charlie’s or Applebee’s. My salad was $16.77 after adding the meat.

The restaurant looks somewhat contemporary and is not a swanky place you’d have to dress up for. It seems that since it is located near the Hamilton Place Mall area on Gunbarrel Road that the crowd consists of shoppers or people who are out running errands and casually dressed.

If you want a fresh, chef-cooked meal whether light or substantial and you don’t want to pay for ‘fine-dining’ step into F2O. I think you will find anything you want there without feeling guilty. I think my body was thanking me for the good food that day. Wish I lived next door.

Proni’s – Don’t Be Paranoid, It’s Just Pizza!

Located at 5001 Brainerd Road is a little place called Proni’s. I had heard that they had good pizza, so last week I stopped in for a visit. You order at the counter and they offer subs, gyros, wings, spaghetti and lasagna as well as their pizzas. The Asian woman at the counter looked like the same small girl I had seen before at two other restaurants. She was in Hixson and ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: Sharing The Laughter

This time last week I was certain that laughter is the best medicine but I have since found I was wrong. Early in the week, as I revealed I was struggling with some health issues, I asked unashamedly for help. Since then the prayers of the people have already resulted in miracles and blessings but what has staggered me are not just hundreds of jokes that have flooded my email but ... (click for more)
