As a 28 year veteran teacher the school board race is very important to me. Especially the race in District 7 as I live in that district. While I have worked with both Mr. Miller and Mrs. Horn and believe they are both honest, hard-working and caring individuals I must lend my support to Donna Horn.
Donna is determined to do what is right for public education. She also knows what teachers and students are facing having just recently retired. We need someone who will stand up for teacher issues and improvements. Her experience lends itself to many areas. There is no question that she will fight for continued improvements for public education.
I will be voting for Donna Horn on Aug. 2. I would like to encourage all of you to get out and show your support for her and let's make a difference for public education.

I have known Donna for a long time. I have watched her grow into a strong advocate for public education and fair practices in education. She has taught in New Jersey, New York, South America and Tennessee. She has been a CASA; that is Court Appointed Special Advocate for children that have been possibly neglected or abused in their homes. She currently does an educational outreach program for the Humane Society and visits county schools with a dog to talk to children about appropriate pet care. She is a tireless fighter when there is an educational cause that needs addressing and stays with it until the end. She has unbelievable energy and strength.
How do I know all this? Well, for the last five years I have lived with Donna and her husband since I was getting up in age. I am now a young 90. She took tender care of my wife until her passing last July and now she continues to take care of me.
I am proud to be her dad and will be casting my vote for her on Thursday. Vote for her and she will get the job done.
