SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Sonic FC Lehigh Valley defeated Chattanooga Football Club, 1-0, Sunday here at Del Notre High School to wn the National Professional Soccer League championship.
Tucker Sandercock of the Pennsylvanis team scored on a header off a corner kick in the 78th minute for the only score of the match.
Chattanooga's best chance to score came in the 80th minute as Luis Trude's shot from the top of the box hit the cross bar.
Chattanooga (8-2-3) also placed second in 2010.
In the semifinals, Chattanooga defeated Bay Area Ambassadors, 3-2, and Sonic FC blanked Madison 56ers, 2-0.
