212 Market Restaurant Receives Three Awards

Wednesday, July 25, 2012

Wine Spectator Magazine has recognized 212 Market Restaurant with its Award of Excellence for the 14th year in a row. According to the magazine, the award is "for lists that offer a well-chosen selection of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style."

Wine Spectator notes that the 212 Market wine list includes nearly 500 selections and has particular strengths in moderately priced Californian and Italian wines. The magazine's August 31 issue will list all of the 2012 award winners.

212 Market Restaurant owner/manager Sally Moses said, "We are excited to receive the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence once again. Ever since we opened 20 years ago, our customers have known that we have a fantastic selection of wines at excellent prices. Offering an eclectic list of wines with great value and the best varietals that we can find has become even more important today. We often partner with charities to conduct wine tastings and have half price deals every Tuesday to encourage people to try a wide variety of different wines."

In addition to the Wine Spectator award, 212 Market Restaurant has received a 2012 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence indicating that the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 out of a possible 5 stars from reviewers on TripAdvisor. As of mid-July 2012, more than 100 visitors have posted reviews of 212 Market on the site.

The League of American Bicyclists has also certified 212 Market Restaurant as a Silver Award level Bicycle Friendly Business for the 5th year in a row. 212 Market is one of only two retail businesses in Tennessee to receive this award. The League's web site notes that “212 Market Restaurant not only cooks up a good meal but also cooks up a good bike culture."

Roy Exum: Hypocrisy And Horses

I am still wincing over the fact a horrendous bill passed in the state legislature that would make whistle-blowers into criminals would have actually gone into law had it not been for Governor Bill Haslam’s eleventh-hour veto. Called the “Ag-Gag bill,” similar efforts in other states have also soured because it is no more than a Catch-22 trick to protect those who abuse animals, ... (click for more)
