Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting at 5317 Dorsey St., where they located the victim, 49-year-old James Bell, suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening injury.
Investigators were told that the victim was outside the residence when he was approached by three black men that exited a car nearby. One of the suspects shot him and then fled the area.
Investigators are working on leads and the case is still on-going.
Also, officers responded to a stabbing at 5300 Central Ave. They found the victim, 54-year-old Maurice Usher, who was suffering from severe lacerations to his shoulder and neck.
Usher was transported to a local hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening injuries. Investigators were told that an unknown black female had stabbed him, but Usher was not very forthcoming on any further details of the incident.
