Wednesday, July 18, 2012

RiverRocks, a 10 day outdoor festival showcasing Chattanooga's heritage and natural resources, is maintaining its focus on becoming one of the nation's top ranked outdoor festivals.

In a move designed to further its mission, the organization announced that Claudia Moore will be joining RiverRocks as director of Marketing and Brand Development.  "I am pleased to have someone of Claudia's caliber to help us realize our vision for RiverRocks," said Mike McGauley, founder of RiverRocks. "We have built a tremendously successful festival from the ground up; however, as we approach our third year, we realize that there is so much more we can accomplish to help achieve our ultimate goal of raising funds for our eight local land trusts and conservancies."

Ms. Moore has a strong track record in marketing, brand development and fundraising.  Most recently she served as the chief development officer for the Greater Chattanooga Area American Red Cross where she was responsible for the marketing, public relations and fund development initiatives that led to the chapter's turnaround.  Prior to moving to Chattanooga, Ms. Moore led marketing programs for several Fortune 500 firms including Sprint, Wal-Mart and McDonald's.

"This year's RiverRocks celebration will take place from Oct. 5-14 and will include more than 90 events.  Claudia's focus will be on maximizing the value our sponsors and partners realize from being a part of this wonderful festival and to ensure that RiverRocks is well positioned for the future," concluded Mr. McGauley.
