Judge David Norton Is Impartial And Fair - And Response (2)

Friday, July 13, 2012

We want to encourage our friends, the citizens of Hamilton County, to vote for David Norton for Sessions Court judge.

David Norton is an honest and dedicated man.  Those who have stood before Judge Norton on both sides have found him to be impartial and fair. His philosophy of hard work and understanding of people gives him a balance that will serve the people of Hamilton County well.  David has an understanding of the judicial system as a judge as well as working as the county attorney.

It is our opinion that David Norton has shown his wisdom, knowledge of the law, fairness, respect for those who appear before him and his concern for the safety of the citizens of Hamilton County during his current service as Sessions Court judge.  David shows mercy from the kindness in his heart, he is firm from his steadfast belief in the rule of law and he is fair and impartial because of his integrity.

Please, join us in honoring Judge David Norton for all his dedicated work with your vote.

Although I have never met David Norton, I have gained a lot of respect for him over the past few months. He has run a classy, low-key campaign, and I like that.

After the tragic and sudden death of Judge Bob Moon, Hamilton County Commissioners voted 7-1 to appoint David Norton as his successor. The Commission knew that Judge Norton could step in the job quickly without need of a "learning curve," due to his decades of experience as Soddy Daisy judge and an assistant county attorney.

All indications are that David Norton is doing a fine job serving in the position to which he was appointed in March. He has the overwhelming support of his colleagues, as evidenced by the opinion of the Chattanooga Bar Association.  He also has judicial experience that far surpasses that of any fellow candidate.

I hope voters will reward Judge Norton’s reserved, credential-driven approach in August.  Beyond the campaign games, with all the flashy signs, Facebook fan collecting, and hand-shaking meets and greets, it is Judge Norton's experience, temperament, and selfless commitment to the community that counts.  In those respects, no other candidate comes even close.

Questionable Moc Coaching Choices - And Response

David Blackburn proved that he rolled an elder vice chancellor to hire Will Wade. I can't find one game Wade coached. Should we think he is a better coach than the Georgia coach that won the SEC? At least four jobs were open in and around Wade's hometown, Nashville. No one mentioned his name. While Blackburn was preaching in the Chattanoogan Room about the fairness of the ... Clowns - And Response (2)

Back in 1973 Stephen Sondheim wrote a song for a Broadway play he titled Send in The Clowns. It subsequently became popular fare for many artists including Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey and others, becoming a popular hit, twice, for '60's activist and protester Judy Collins. I first thought of it as just another boring, elevator music attempt by a former HippyChic to pump up her ... (click for more)

Officials in the Sheriff's Department said a warrant was not obtained early Saturday morning to go inside a house where over 20 allegedly beer-drinking teens were partying because a magistrate said he was about to get off duty and wouldn't wait over. Sgt. Robert Starnes said he was standing by a deputy who called Magistrate Larry Ables at 4:30 a.m. seeking the warrant ... (click for more)

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Silverdale Baptist Academy Seahawks appeared in their first Class A state baseball tournament game Tuesday afternoon and played liked they had been here before. Notre Dame Falls In State Soccer Tournament

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- After scoring a goal 15 minutes into Tuesday’s TSSAA Class A/AA soccer quarterfinal and holding that lead for the next 23 minutes, Notre Dame felt good about its chances of advancing to the state semifinals. Two plays from White House’s Luis Vital prevented the Irish from doing so. The sophomore scored the equalizer two minutes before halftime, and in ... (click for more)
