Premier Of Ella, Filmed In Chattanooga, Is At The Tivoli July 21

Thursday, July 12, 2012

World Premiere of the film Ella that was shot on location at the end of last year in Chattanooga, will be showing at the historic Tivoli Theatre on July 21 at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Industry professionals will be coming from Los Angeles and Atlanta to share thoughts and the process of the making of the film.  They will then have a question and answer session after the film.

Director and co-writer of the film, Myles Matsuno, wanted to specifically hold the world premiere of the film at the location on which he shot the big concert scene at the end of his film.

Ella is about a young musician who loses his fiancée and unborn child in a tragic car accident, and to cope with his loss he says goodbye the only way he can – with his music. At its core, Ella is about memory, love, and letting go.

The film will be accompanied by the award winning film Breakfast at Tiffany’s, which will be shown after the premiere of Ella. Tickets can be purchased at the door the day of the event for $8.

Ella has been submitted to film festivals across the nation and was mentioned as “quite good” by Hollywood Producer Mike Medavoy, president of Phoenix Pictures.   It was shown at the Palm Springs Short Fest and Film Market and is expected to hear back from many other festivals within the next month.

Location Of The Delta Queen Is The Problem

The Delta Queen is a magnificent part of history and in many ways I'm pleased she is in town. Having the boat where she is is the problem. The boat blocks the view of and from the prettiest park in our town. The crew take many of the parking spots around the park leaving families to park across Frazier and schlep their kids, strollers and picnics to the park. You don't get fireworks ... (click for more)

Today the book is a classic and I have marveled ever since over how unbelievable human ... (click for more)
