Brenda Gale Martin, 58, of Dalton, Ga., died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the local hospital.

Gale was born November 27, 1953 in Dalton, a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Sarah Frances Lindsey Martin. She was a 1970 graduate of West Side High School. She was a real estate agent and the owner of Classic Realty.

She was preceded in death by her brother Lindsey Martin.

She is survived by her nieces and spouses, Tammy and Chad Withrow of Jacksonville, Fla., and Tanya and Ashley Posey of Bainbridge, Ga.; grandchildren, Caitlin, Caleb and Ostin Withrow, Emilia and Alyssa Posey; sisters, Kathy Bagley of Rocky Face, Ga. Kay Hardy, Sandra Bennett and Donna Rhear all of Dalton; sister-In-Law: Joy Martin of Dalton, several other nieces and nephews.

Services will be Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel. She will be laid to rest at the Dunagan Cemetery in Rocky Face, Ga., with Scott Martin, Duke Martin, Chad Withrow, Ashley Posey, Jason Bagley and David Martin serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 3-7 p.m. Saturday.

Heuser, Valetta Jean (Rock Spring)

Valetta Jean Heuser, 93, of Rock Spring, died on Monday, May 20, 2013 in a local hospital. Mrs. Heuser was a charter member of Ft. James G. “Jaybird” Henderson, Sr., 66, of Chickamauga, died on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at his residence following a three-year battle with cancer.
